Amazing & legendary Rolex FIRST GENERATION watch CREAMY Rail dial from Explorer II Oyster Perpetual Date watch #16550.
Fantastic 1st generation dial with white gold circled index Explo 2 # 16550.
The most coveted are those with "rail" dials, as shown in this extremely well preserved example.
The term "rail" refers to the near perfect alignment of the vertical space between the text on the two lines of the dial at 6 o'clock. You will notice that "Superlative" and "Officially" are on the left, while "Chronometer" and "Certified" are on the right.
In addition to the color change, the Rolex 16650 dials have been given a glossy lacquer finish, giving them a porcelain look.
The white gold applied luminous hour markers complete the dial in this example and are different from the Rolex dials used in reference 16570, its successor, which used hour markers surrounded by black. In addition, reference 16550 allowed for independent adjustment of the 24-hour hand rather than simply indicating whether it was day or night in dark environments.
It is worth noting that this Rolex dial is not only rare for this generation of Explorer 16550, but that the white color has turned to a very subtle vanilla-cream hue that leaves a unique dial, it is an artistic masterpiece !
This is not just a Rolex watch you will have on your wrist but a work of art in its own right...

Very good, only 1-2 micros tasks close to hands canon 's hole. (see pictures please)
