OMEGA strap NASA Velcro 20mm bracelet for Omega Speedmaster moon watch

1. Non-chrome finish solid stainless steel ring

Metal ring fabricated from 94 Mil diameter aircraft-grade stainless steel to MIL-S-7720A, not nickel plated softer and thinner metal seen elsewhere which will loose its chrome finish and become tarnished.  Ring bent to a narrow 1/4 inch opening, and not the 50% greater 3/8 inch sourced from hardware or craft shops.

2. Binding tape is actual color and type used by NASA

MIL-T-5038 Class III type 1, color Olive Drab #7.

3. All stitching with Olive Drab color nylon thread

Thread color is to  Dwg. SEB12100030 before "Revision L" which used O.D. instead of the 30-Nov-88 specified change to black thread. Thread size E to V-T-295 specification.

4.  Specially selected Velcro(R) brand nylon hook and loop tape

Velcro(R) brand loop tape to A-A-55126B Class 4 (supersedes MIL-F-21840G). This is the latest military-spec and superb watch strap material. Unlike regular loop tape sourced from sewing suppliers, the edges are resistant to fraying and the substrate has enough stiffness to provide long lasting support for any heavy watch with 20mm spring bars, such as the Omega Speedmaster. Being Nylon it also has low odor retention, unlike polyester.

5. As used with the Omega Speedmaster for unsuited wear in Apollo, Skylab, ASTP and early Shuttle missions

Total length, excluding steel ring, is 11.5 inches. Hook tape sewn to the end of loop tape with an overlap of only 1/2 inch, reinforced with binding tape. Hooks are hand-removed from overlapping end for stitching as per specification.

6.  Authentic markings in indelible ink :

Typewriter font is pica type (10 char per inch) as per Dwg. SEB12100030, note 2. The part no and serial no. is as per NASA marking and identification standard JSC-SPEC-M-1A used for every flown item in the space program. It does not have the project Gemini part number CF55052-5 in modern Arial font.
