it is standard for all submariners vintage watches 60s to 1989. (From 5510 -5512-5513-5514 -5517 to 1680)

It sets and maintains the plexi while allowing optimal fixation of bidirectional rotating bezel. It ensures the continuous rotation of the bezel and its insert.

it therefore has a dual function of clamping the plexi on the middle part and the mounting bezel.
