This is a bracelet from one of most renowned metalworkers of the 20th century.

Rolex bought "Gay Frères Company" during end of the 80's ( 1988).

Rare & highly collectible Vintage "GAY FRERES" (GF) Strap Watch bracelet rivet links Clasp for sale.

Brand: GAY FRERES

Total Length: 14.2 cm (closed) / 21.5 cm (open clasp) 

Material Strap: stainless steel, bipolished finish, very nice.

Color: silver/

Links type : Oyster style rivet with inner springs for adaptavive comportment on wrist.

Clasp Type: folding clasp, bipolished top cover.

Inner clasp stamped :  G.F SWISS MADE STEELINOX 1-54

Material Buckle: stainless steel 

Condition : exceptionnal, umpolished, just micros marks of natural wear.

Arguably though, Gay Frères reserved its finest work for Geneva's most illustrious manufactures. During the 1940s and 1950s, the company supplied Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin, two of its closest neighbors, with bracelets that matched the quality of the watches to which they were fitted.

When the focus of certain manufacturers shifted toward creating chronographs and other professional watches in the 1960s and 1970s, Gay Frères opted for new designs, and presented companies such as Heuer with Oyster-like folded links.

c o n d i t i o n  :

This example is in nice shape, straight, clean condition, seem umpolished.

It is probably as good an original example as you will find in watch parts market.
It has 18mm endlinks and rivets extensibles links themselves are soft to wear for daily use.

Rivits links are nicely expandables, springs is strongs no damage, no corrosion, just perfect.

Stamped : 

"GF SWISS MADE STEELINOX 1-54" inside blades clasp. 

Brushed & polished elegant finish for top cover clasp and full polished for rivits links. 
14.2cm total lenght. 11 x rivet link in nice condition, only 2 last got part of corrosion, easy to repolish and removables.

This vintage GF strap to be fitted to a watch with fixed lugs if necessary.

Preowned : micros marks of normal use but not pretty much, bracelet is just perfect for its age !
