History :
The UNITAS movement 6497: a solid reputation
The Unitas 6497 is used by many luxury brands (Panerai, Breitling, Omega ...), as is more or less changed.
It is probably a good part of his current reputation to having been used by Panerai.
Created in the 50s by the Swiss brand UNITAS which was later absorbed by ETA, the 6497 caliber is a hand-wound movement with high reliability.


His legendary strength & fiability earned him the nickname "tractor".


Used by the famous Panerai Luminor Marina watch pam 111 & Cal OPXI, its diameter was perfect for the size of gigantic watches cases diameter during this period.
it was modified by Panerai to become one of the best gauges of the market.


ITEM DESCRIPTION :

Good cosmetic condition: checked and tested by certified watchmakers.

The manual wind Panerai caliber OP XI movement is based off an an ETA 6497/2.

First seen in Panerai models around 2002.

It has 17 jewels with a 56 hour power reserve and 21,600 vph.
