ROLEX GMT VINTAGE CASEBACK 1971 – RARE COLLECTOR PART

Extremely hard‑to‑find original Rolex GMT stainless steel screw‑down caseback, dated II.71 (second quarter 1971).
This genuine part is compatible with 40 mm vintage GMT models such as Rolex 1675, 16750, 1675/3, 1675/1 (to be checked by your watchmaker before installation).

The caseback is made of inox stainless steel, with a classic polished outer surface and brushed inner finish, as used by Rolex up until the late 1970s.
Until around 1979, all Rolex casebacks were engraved, which makes these early examples particularly attractive and sought after by collectors and restorers.

Inside, the caseback is correctly stamped:

  • MONTRES ROLEX SA GENEVA SWITZERLAND PATENTED

  • STAINLESS STEEL

  • 1675

  • II 71

These markings are consistent with original Rolex production of the period and make this a highly desirable part for an accurate, period‑correct restoration.

Measurements : 37,34 mm.

Cosmetical condition :

Overall condition is good, with normal signs of age and use, but no major damage that would affect function or sealing once properly serviced.
A perfect component for completing or upgrading a vintage Rolex GMT MASTER 1675 restoration with an original period‑correct caseback, and very difficult to source on today’s market.
