The altimeter having outer altimetric scale from 0 - 3500 metres, the centre with barometric scale from 650 - 1040 millibars, window displaying celsius thermometer, and marked "Altimeter,""Compensated," and "Eschenbach, Germany."

Fluorescent orange pointer and low plexiglass dome held in bright plated rotating bezel with ring for lanyard.

Black plastic drum form case.

Zipped faux leather protective sleeve.


Condition: In very good working condition, the plexiglass with very minor marks consistent with age and use.

Comments: Before the arrival of affordable personal GPS devices, such precision pocket barometer altimeters, utilising a variation of the aneroid movement invented by Lucien Vidi in 1843, were an invaluable aid to mountaineers and hikers.
